Please read the following information before filling out an adoption application:

Adoptions are the most important part of what we do! We put a lot of time, effort and love into our rescues and we want to ensure they are going to a good home. We want to work with you to be sure you adopt birds that are going to give you the most enjoyment but also ones that are best suited to the living environment you are providing.

We are an all volunteer group so please be patient with us as the process may move slowly. Depending on the time of year it may take several weeks to several months to get approved. We process applications in the order that we receive them after they are fully complete.

Adoption FAQs

  • Our animals available for adoption vary. They include domestic ducks, geese, swans, turkeys, roosters, and hens. We occasionally receive pigeons, cockatiels, parakeets, and other smaller parrots. For information on what is currently available, please email

  • We rarely receive purebred birds and priority for adoption goes to our established adopters and volunteers.

  • Due to the large number of male birds that we receive, we do not adopt only girls. Please consider adopting an all-male flock, which is the best way to help homeless birds.

  • We no longer adopt doves, quail, or pheasants to the general public, due to issues with people using them to stock hunting properties.
