BriAnna Vlach

Operations Manager

BriAnna Vlach has been part of Carolina Waterfowl Rescue since November 2022 and serves as CWR's Operations Manager. Her work focuses on keeping the physical and logistical side of the rescue functioning so that staff and volunteers have what they need to care for the animals each day.

With a facility housing and caring for a large and diverse population of animals, there is always something that needs to be maintained, repaired, replaced, ordered, organized, or improved. BriAnna helps stay on top of those constantly changing needs, coordinating repairs and maintenance throughout the property and helping ensure problems are addressed before they interfere with daily animal care.

One of her most important ongoing responsibilities is managing CWR's feed and supply needs. Keeping appropriate feed in stock requires regular monitoring and ordering to support the many animals in CWR's care.

BriAnna also coordinates many of CWR's larger volunteer project workdays. These projects often bring outside groups, including Boy Scout groups and other community volunteers, to the rescue to tackle improvements that would be difficult for CWR's regular staff to complete alone. She helps organize the work that needs to be done and coordinates these groups so their time at CWR can make a meaningful difference.

Volunteer onboarding is another important part of BriAnna's current responsibilities. She monitors volunteer communications, helps prospective volunteers move through the onboarding process, and conducts orientations that introduce new volunteers to the rescue and prepare them to begin working safely and effectively.

Much of an Operations Manager's work happens quietly in the background, but it touches nearly every part of the organization. From making sure feed is ordered and repairs are completed to organizing project days and helping new volunteers get started, BriAnna's work helps provide the infrastructure that allows CWR's animal-care teams to focus on the animals who depend on them.

In November 2026, BriAnna celebrates four years with Carolina Waterfowl Rescue and four years of helping keep an unusually busy rescue operation moving forward.
